Prince William and Kate Middleton had a busy day in Scotland, but their visit took an unexpected turn when they were booed during a trip to a local pub. The royal couple, who had been touring the country, found themselves in an awkward situation when a member of the public shouted at them as they entered the Göteborg pub in the village of Fallin.
The day had started with a more positive tone. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as they are officially known, visited Falkirk to take in the stunning “Kelpies” sculptures before heading to Stirling to visit the National Curling Academy. The couple met with members of Team GB ahead of the Winter Olympics and Paralympics, which will be held in Italy in February 2026.

Kate, ever the stylish royal, wore a traditional Scottish plaid coat, while William opted for a more relaxed look without a tie. During a fun moment on the ice, Kate chose to stay in her midi skirt, swapping her high-heeled black suede boots for flat curling shoes. While William had a stronger throw, Kate won the impromptu mini tournament with a little help from her team.

Later in the day, the couple visited the Göteborg pub in Fallin, which has a special connection to local communities, with 95% of its profits being returned to the area. The establishment, founded in 1910, is one of the few remaining pubs of its kind in Scotland.

However, the festive atmosphere turned tense as the couple approached the entrance of the pub. A man from the crowd shouted loudly, referencing the scandal surrounding Prince Andrew and his ties to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. “How long have you known about Andrew and Epstein? Are you covering for Andrew?” the man yelled.

The security team quickly intervened and escorted the man away, silencing him. Despite the uncomfortable interruption, Kate and William maintained their composure and entered the pub, continuing their visit without further incident.
The royal couple’s calm demeanor in the face of public criticism is a reminder of the challenges they face as members of the royal family, but their professionalism shone through in this uncomfortable moment.
