There is hardly anyone who hasn’t heard of these Octuplets at least for once. It was a heroic woman named Natalie (Nadya) who gave birth to 8 healthy babies at once. This has been the first and only case recorded in history making Nadya a mother-heroine. The kids were born in January 2009. Not everyone knows that she conceived the octuplets and her 6 other children via IVF.
Born on July 11, 1975, Nadya is from California. She became the only child in her family of a school teacher and military serving in Iraq. During her marriage, Nadya learnt about her reproductive problems which didn’t let her conceive in a natural way. However, her cherished dream was no have a large family. As she divorced her husband, Marco Gutierrez, she became a single mom which made the motherhood an even more challenging period of her life.
She first embraced motherhood welcoming her son in 2001. A year later her daughter came into the world. When she got pregnant with 8 babies, absolutely no one could imagine that she would give them birth successfully. Doctors were worried about the potential risks trying to convince her not to take the risk. By the way, at that time she was 33 years old. Actually, what the doctors did broke the medical rule, yet Natalie was eager to embrace what fate had prepared for her.
Though healthy, the babies were born at 31st week. 2 of them were girls and the other 4 were boys. The biggest one weighed 1.5 kilos, while the smallest was 800 grams. Suleman started to be interviewed capturing everyone’s attention. She faced many difficulties, hardship and challenges but the upbringing of 14 babies is the hardest job in the world.
