What was once a forgotten corner of an old apartment has now been completely reborn. This tiny 4.5-square-metre kitchen, which hadn’t seen a proper update in over 50 years, has been transformed into a charming and fully functional cooking space.

Before the renovation, the kitchen was in rough shape. The plumbing was outdated, the floors were worn, and the walls still connected to the bathroom. The sink was cracked, a rusty metal dish rack hung above it, and the backsplash was covered with faded Soviet-era tiles. It was clear the space had been frozen in time for decades.

One particularly odd detail? The kitchen faucet had two spouts, and the radiators were installed one above the other—one of them so high it hovered above the countertop. It was a strange setup, to say the least.

Despite the quirky charm of the old materials—some of which had survived longer than today’s modern pieces ever could—the kitchen felt tired and far from functional.

But everything changed after the remodel.

Now, the kitchen is sleek, fresh, and thoughtfully designed. Soft, modern tones were chosen to make the small space feel open and bright. Every inch of the 4.5 square meters was maximized, fitting in a stovetop, a dishwasher, and even a refrigerator in a perfectly planned spot.

The result? A space that’s not only beautiful, but also incredibly practical—proof that even the smallest kitchens can feel like home.

There are still a few personal touches that may not appeal to everyone—like a fridge covered in magnets and a silver strip dividing the space—but those details are easy to change.
