The raven briefly paused on the back of the eagle, as if he got a free nice ride and the eagle basically owed him.
Phoo Chan, a talented bird photographer whose photographs have been published by National Geographic, took an unusual series of photographs of a raven flying and riding on the back of a bald eagle mid-flight
As Chan says, “Ravens have been known to irritate a variety of much larger predators in case they are spotted in their area, and as a general rule, these ‘gates’ will usually retreat unless there are many objections.
Anyway, the raven on that ledge didn’t seem to bother the bald eagle that much, and the latter didn’t think the raven was invading his territory.
Even weirder was that the raven even paused briefly on the back of the bird, as if he got a free nice ride and the hawk basically owed him.”
As extraordinary as this photograph may be, this is not the premier time such an absorbing and stunning spectacle has been seen by the photographer.
