Not long ago, this small, forgotten house was falling apart. The roof had caved in, the windows were just open holes letting in the wind, and the floorboards were full of holes. It was a heartbreaking sight.

An elderly couple had once called it home, but over the years, they lost the strength and energy to keep it up. Slowly, the home they loved was overtaken by time and neglect.

But everything changed thanks to a young woman named Anna Ehrman—a talented designer with a love for preserving the past. She discovered the old house and decided it deserved a second chance.

Outside, the yard had become a tangled mess of overgrown plants and wild bushes. What was once a charming garden now looked more like a jungle. The small home, just 76 square meters, was built in the 1970s and came with a few crumbling sheds and an old apple orchard.

Inside, things weren’t much better. Mold covered the walls, furniture was either broken or gone, and the floors creaked with every step. But Anna saw potential, not problems.

Instead of tearing everything down, she focused on restoring what could be saved. She hunted for craftsmen who still worked with traditional woodworking methods and brought them in to help. The house was painted a deep yellow, giving it warmth and charm.

Downstairs, she redesigned the space to include a cheerful kitchen, a cozy living room, a small dining area, and a neat bathroom.

Upstairs, there were two tiny bedrooms—but with clever design, she managed to fit proper beds and even desks.

One of the most beautiful spaces was the bathroom. Though small, it now holds a classic cast-iron tub, a vintage chest of drawers, and soft floral curtains that give it a peaceful, old-world feel.

What started as a broken-down house is now a comfortable, welcoming home once again.
