Born in 1939, in rural New York, little Elizabeth couldn’t even think what a superstar she would become in the future. Her childhood years were marked by controversy as she arrived in an environment rich in artistic expression but burdened by financial issues. Her dad was raised at an orphanage which shaped him being reflected in his overall behavior.

Richard tried to sell his paintings, and the mother, Frances, provided for the family with the help of freelance commercial art. The future star was only 22 when she relocated to New York City and soon found a job behind the scenes in the fashion world at Harper’s Bazaar. It didn’t take long to the professionals to notice her inner potential. Editor D. Vreeland hired her as an assistant and fashion photographer M. Sokolsky promoted her to a styling position acknowledging her exceptional beauty.

Her debut as an actress was in 1969 in «Goodbye, Columbus» earning her a Golden Globe award. But it was ֿ«Love Story» that brought her immense popularity and widespread recognition.
