Kelly Osbourne has spoken out after facing a wave of harsh criticism following a deeply emotional public appearance honoring her late father, Ozzy Osbourne.
Over the weekend, Kelly attended the Brit Awards in Manchester alongside her mother, Sharon Osbourne. During the ceremony, the family accepted a posthumous award recognizing Ozzy’s monumental contribution to music and his legacy as one of the founders of Black Sabbath.
Both women appeared in black as they paid tribute to the legendary rocker. Kelly wore an elegant black dress paired with a feathered jacket, while Sharon chose a classic three-piece suit in the same somber tone. Their appearance was meant to be a moment of remembrance.

Instead, it quickly turned into a storm of online criticism.
After photos from the event circulated, some commenters began attacking Kelly’s appearance and weight. The backlash deeply upset her, prompting an emotional response.
“There is a special kind of cruelty in hurting someone who is clearly going through something,” she wrote. “Kicking me while I’m down, questioning my pain, spreading rumors about my struggles… That doesn’t show strength. It shows a complete lack of character. I’m going through the hardest period of my life, and I will not allow myself to be humiliated.”
Public scrutiny is not new for Kelly. As a teenager appearing on the family reality show The Osbournes, she faced relentless criticism about her weight and appearance. She later revealed that a television executive once told her she was “too fat for TV” and would only succeed if she lost weight.

In 2018, Kelly underwent gastric sleeve surgery and eventually lost around 38 kilograms through strict dieting and high-intensity workouts. But life brought new challenges. During her pregnancy in 2022, when she was expecting her son Sidney, she gained significant weight and developed gestational diabetes.
More recently, she appeared at London Fashion Week, where new comments about her thinner appearance began circulating online. Some even cruelly suggested she looked “too fragile” after the death of her father.
Kelly pushed back against rumors that she used diabetes medication to lose weight, clarifying that she never took such injections — despite speculation linking her to the trend.

Sources close to the star say the criticism has been especially painful now that she is grieving.
For Kelly, the focus is no longer on public approval. It’s about healing — and protecting herself from the noise.
And this time, she made it clear she won’t stay silent.
