Prince William once again stepped out on a charitable mission not alone — he was joined by his son George, and together they supported a Christmas tradition begun by Princess Diana.
In the British royal family, charity is considered an important part of upbringing. From an early age, future heirs are taught compassion and responsibility toward those less fortunate. For Prince William, this journey began at the age of 11 — it was then that his mother first took him to a London charity she actively supported herself. Since that time, taking part in preparing a festive meal for The Passage, one of the largest organizations helping homeless people and those facing difficult life circumstances, has become an annual tradition for him. Now, his eldest son has joined in as well.
Young Prince George appeared at the event wearing a neat white apron embroidered with his name and enthusiastically got involved in the preparations. He helped in the kitchen with Christmas dishes and later decorated the tree together with his father. The day turned out to be heartfelt and warmly family-oriented. Moments from the event were shared on the official social media accounts of the Prince and Princess of Wales. One image in particular stood out — a page from the guestbook showing signatures from three generations: first Princess Diana in December 1993, then her son William, and now Prince George himself.
In one of his recent documentary projects, Prince William recalled the profound influence his mother had on him. He admitted that as a child he was very nervous before his first visit to such a place and did not know what to expect. But it was Diana who created an atmosphere of warmth and ease, speaking with everyone, joking, and offering support. According to the prince, that experience permanently changed his view of charity.
From that first visit, The Passage has held a special place in William’s life. In 2019, he became the organization’s royal patron, preserving Princess Diana’s legacy and passing these important lessons on to the next generation.
