The 12-year-old was recently seen out shopping wearing what appeared to be multiple facial piercings, sparking immediate chatter online. The sighting came shortly after criticism over her finger studs, keeping her fashion choices firmly in the spotlight.
At first glance, the studs looked real. Small metallic dots dotted her face, giving off the impression of a full piercing makeover. But the dramatic detail wasn’t permanent.
The “piercings” were actually temporary stickers designed to resemble real studs. In other words, it was a playful styling choice — not a permanent decision. For North, it seemed less about rebellion and more about performance.
The timing aligns with her latest creative move. She is currently promoting her debut single, “Piercing On My Hand,” which she performed alongside her father, Kanye West, 48, during his concert in Mexico City last month. The look may have been more on-brand than controversial.
As expected, social media reacted quickly. Some critics questioned whether a preteen should be experimenting with such bold aesthetics, while others immediately pointed out that the studs were clearly glued on. “2 piercings & the rest are glued on, how yall don’t see this,” one commenter wrote. Another added, “I see a superstar in the making. Keep living unapologetically.”
