“I thought I’d get painful blisters—but this makeup hack saved me.” Stuck at an event with sandals rubbing my feet raw, I tried something from my purse that worked like magic 👡✨ See the simple trick in the article 👇💡
Hello, dear readers. Today I want to take a break from my usual blog topics and share a quick life hack that unexpectedly saved me from painful blisters.
I don’t always buy super comfortable shoes – sometimes they feel fine in the store, but after wearing them for a while, discomfort sets in. Usually, to prevent new shoes from rubbing, I use anti-friction sticks instead of bandages – I prefer kinesiology tape because it never peels off.

This time, though, I didn’t use anything. These sandals felt so comfortable, and I had worn them before without issues, so I thought I’d be fine.
But on the day I wore them, it was 34°C (93°F). After a short while, my feet started swelling from the heat, and the sandals began rubbing against my skin in a few spots.
I knew that if I kept walking in them, I’d end up with blisters. Normally, I’d run into the nearest pharmacy for bandages, but I was out of town at an event, so that wasn’t an option.
I’ve read about home remedies like talcum powder or baking soda for this, but I didn’t have either in my bag (and I honestly doubt baking soda works for this, despite how popular it is online). I didn’t even have lip balm with me – many of you, my lovely readers, once suggested it as a substitute for expensive anti-friction sticks.

All I had was my loose face powder. I carry it with me along with a small brush because it’s tiny, fits into any mini purse, and looks invisible on the skin even when layered.
I didn’t really believe it would help, but I dusted some powder onto the areas where the sandals were rubbing and gently blended it in. And guess what? It worked! I walked comfortably for the rest of the event without getting a single blister.
I just wanted to share this tip in case any of you ever find yourselves in a similar situation without your usual anti-friction products. Face powder is something most of us carry in our purses – and pressed powder should work just as well.
