The significant contribution of this Italian star can hardly be overestimated. It was after «Not with My Wife, You Don’t!», «The Secret of Santa Vittoria» and «Beyond Good and Evil» that she rose to international fame and recognition. For her appearance in «La Reine Margot» she even won Best Actress at Cannes as well as the Cesar Award for Best Supporting Actress. Born in November 1936, she began her career in her teens.
Initially appearing in musicals, she gradually went to more demanding roles, particularly in «The Doll That Took the Town» and «Eva». In the 1960s she also appeared in comedies and took part in TV dramas. In the 1970 she took a hiatus from her career for the sake of a more peaceful and low-key life with her husband and their son. For 53 years she had been married to F. Pesci and only his passing could do them apart. Lisi also admitted that his partner didn’t really like her career. He was a jealous man and he even attempted to take her away from the movie business. It was in 2014 that the superstar passed away because of lung cancer at the age of 78.
