“If you can’t remember the last time you changed your toothbrush, read this” 🪥⏳ Old bristles and hidden bacteria could be doing more harm than you think. Wondering how often you really need a new one—and why it matters more than you realize? Find out in the article below 👇
We all know brushing our teeth is important, but have you ever stopped to think about how often you should replace your toothbrush? If you can’t remember the last time you swapped yours out, you’re definitely not alone!
It’s advised to get a new toothbrush (or your electric toothbrush head) every three to four months. Why? Eventually, the bristles become bent and less effective, worn down, and much less effective at cleaning your teeth and gums properly. Even if your toothbrush looks fine, bacteria can build up on it — and no one wants that in their mouth!
There are times when changing your toothbrush earlier makes sense, such as if:
The bristles are visibly bent or worn.
You’ve been sick (germs can linger on the brush).
It starts to smell strange or looks discolored.
Using a fresh toothbrush not only keeps your mouth cleaner but can lower the potential for tooth damage, gum problems, and unpleasant breath.
A good rule of thumb: when you see the seasons change, it’s probably time to change your toothbrush too!
