A young woman inherited a compact one-bedroom apartment in an aging building. The place was in terrible shape—gloomy walls, peeling linoleum, and outdated fixtures. Instead of selling, she chose to breathe new life into it while respecting both its history and her family’s legacy.
The Apartment’s Original State
Spanning 37 square meters in total, the main living space measured 19 square meters, while the kitchen occupied 9 square meters.
Wanting a functional yet stylish makeover, the new owner sought the expertise of a designer who assisted in reimagining the layout and aesthetic of the space.
Smart Space Optimization
To maximize the apartment’s potential, a partition was installed, carving out a separate bedroom area. A sliding door was chosen to conserve space, and a sleek wardrobe was added for storage.
For a warm and inviting feel, she selected eye-catching wallpaper for the bedroom, creating a cozy retreat.
Kitchen and Dining with a Vintage Touch
The kitchen was designed with a simple yet elegant theme, featuring custom cabinetry. In the dining area, the owner opted to keep the original table and chairs, maintaining a nostalgic charm that beautifully complemented the modern upgrades.
Functional and Stylish Bathroom
Brand-new fixtures were installed in both the bathroom and toilet, but the rooms remained separate—a decision that enhanced practicality and convenience.
