That was exactly the case for one family, whose 3.2m² washroom hadn’t been renovated in two decades. The plumbing was worn out, and the tiles had long since lost their charm. Determined to modernize the space, they embarked on a much-needed makeover.

The first major change was installing a water heater, which, while essential, took up considerable room. To compensate for the lost space, they opted for a wall-mounted toilet, creating a sleeker and more open feel. The sink was also downsized to a compact 30×60 cm model to keep the area functional without overwhelming it.

To keep the room organized, the bulky water heater was discreetly hidden behind built-in cabinets. This not only concealed the appliance but also created additional storage shelves—perfect for neatly stowing household essentials. With cleaning supplies no longer cluttering the sink area, the space instantly felt more open and inviting. A large mirror was also mounted above the sink, further enhancing the illusion of a bigger room.

When it came to the walls, the homeowners opted for elegant beige tiles, incorporating subtle dark brown patterns for added depth. The bathroom door was chosen to complement this color scheme, featuring a beige wood-like finish. Silver fixtures, including the door handles and faucet, tied everything together for a sleek, polished look.
