The sweet puppy was mistreated and scared of humans š¶ā¤ļøšØāš¦°
A puppy named Gracie was so terrified in the first days at the animal shelter, that she refused to eat. She just cowered in the corner of her cage and didnāt even want to look at the food.
She was discovered without an owner in the middle of the street. She was very terrified and had an awful health condition. She even didnāt have a tag or a microchip and her rescuers couldnāt find her owners.
At first, she was very scared of humans and it was clear, that she was completely mistreated. Her rescuers now need to gain her trust.
As she wasnāt eating the vets were worried for her, as they thought she couldnāt survive. And at the time one of the vets considered a unique thing.
He considered climbing into Gracieās cage and eating his meal with her. But it wasnāt the end, he even ate from the dogās bowl to understand what she was eating. He started feeding the puppy by small amounts and then she understood she could do it by herself.
Thanks to her vetās kindness Gracie started eating by herself and gained weight. And even soon she began coming out of her shell and playing with other dogs.
Dr. Mathis considered helping Gracie recover her health and find a permanent home. But everything wasnāt so easy.
Over time they saw Gracie was happy being around other dogs and Dr. Mathis considered making her an office dog.
And every year Dr. Mathis and Gracie celebrated the day she was saved and their friendship started.
