His owner, Shelby Mayo, explained that Ranger inherited the condition from both parents, as it only develops when both carry a faulty gene. This genetic disorder often results from inbreeding, which occurs when closely related animals, such as siblings from the same litter, are bred together.
Veterinarian Lynn Janes noted that dogs with pituitary dwarfism experience severely stunted growth, often stopping altogether at just two or three months old.
