Leonardo DiCaprio surprised onlookers this week — not because of where he went, but because of what he wasn’t wearing.
The 51-year-old actor was photographed heading to dinner in Beverly Hills with his father, George DiCaprio, and for once, he wasn’t hiding behind a medical mask. Known for often covering his face in public to avoid attention, Leo appeared noticeably more relaxed as cameras caught him on the way into the popular restaurant Funke.

Dressed casually, DiCaprio opted for jeans, a dark denim jacket layered over a zip-up hoodie, and a black LA baseball cap. The low-key look was classic Leo — understated and comfortable. His 82-year-old father, meanwhile, chose a longer black jacket paired with a crisp white shirt and slim gray trousers.

The father-son outing was hardly surprising to those familiar with their close bond. Although Leonardo’s parents separated shortly after his birth, they maintained a strong friendship and even lived in neighboring homes to share parenting duties. That arrangement allowed Leo to grow up with both parents actively present in his life.

George DiCaprio has long been known as a creative force in his own right. He works as a comic book artist, writer, and performance artist, and his influence on Leonardo’s early artistic environment has often been noted.
Over the years, the Oscar winner has frequently stepped out with his father at events and private dinners alike. This latest appearance, mask-free and unguarded, offered a rare glimpse of Leo at ease — and once again highlighted the enduring connection between father and son.
