Chocolate croissants don’t have to be complicated! With just a few simple ingredients, you can make the fluffiest, most delicious treat that’s perfect for breakfast, dessert, or even as a sweet snack for kids to take to school.

Ingredients:

  • 250 ml warm milk

  • 1 tbsp dry yeast (7 g)

  • 1 egg white

  • 8 g vanilla sugar

  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar

  • 4 tbsp oil

  • 500 g flour

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 40 g melted butter

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

  • Chocolate (for filling)

  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

  • 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk (for brushing)

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, vanilla sugar, and granulated sugar. Add oil and the egg white.

  2. Gradually add flour and salt, kneading into a soft dough. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise for 1 hour.

  3. Divide the dough into small balls, then roll each into thin circles.

  4. Brush each layer with melted butter and sprinkle lightly with cornstarch, stacking the layers on top of each other.

  5. Roll out the stacked dough into a flat sheet and cut it into 16 triangles. Place a piece of chocolate at the base of each triangle and roll it up into a croissant shape.

  6. Arrange on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the egg yolk and milk mixture.

  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 25 minutes until golden brown.

  8. Once cooled slightly, dust with powdered sugar.

✨ The result? Buttery, soft, and absolutely irresistible croissants with a gooey chocolate center. Perfect with coffee or a glass of milk!
