Chocolate croissants don’t have to be complicated! With just a few simple ingredients, you can make the fluffiest, most delicious treat that’s perfect for breakfast, dessert, or even as a sweet snack for kids to take to school.
Ingredients:
-
250 ml warm milk
-
1 tbsp dry yeast (7 g)
-
1 egg white
-
8 g vanilla sugar
-
3 tbsp granulated sugar
-
4 tbsp oil
-
500 g flour
-
1 tsp salt
-
40 g melted butter
-
2 tbsp cornstarch
-
Chocolate (for filling)
-
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
-
1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk (for brushing)

Directions:
-
In a bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, vanilla sugar, and granulated sugar. Add oil and the egg white.
-
Gradually add flour and salt, kneading into a soft dough. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise for 1 hour.
-
Divide the dough into small balls, then roll each into thin circles.
-
Brush each layer with melted butter and sprinkle lightly with cornstarch, stacking the layers on top of each other.
-
Roll out the stacked dough into a flat sheet and cut it into 16 triangles. Place a piece of chocolate at the base of each triangle and roll it up into a croissant shape.
-
Arrange on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the egg yolk and milk mixture.
-
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
-
Once cooled slightly, dust with powdered sugar.
✨ The result? Buttery, soft, and absolutely irresistible croissants with a gooey chocolate center. Perfect with coffee or a glass of milk!
