This tiny kitten was only six days old when she was found, alone and without her mother. At just 50 grams, she weighed half of what a healthy newborn kitten should. Can you imagine how small she was?

Despite her fragile body, she fought fiercely to survive. The vet even joked that she had the spirit of a warrior.

Because she didn’t have her mother’s care, the kitten needed special attention to stay alive. Orphaned kittens often have weak immune systems, making them vulnerable to illnesses.

Fortunately, in the US, there is a special rescue fund for kittens in crisis. A volunteer nurse registered her into the program. They placed her in an incubator to keep her warm, gave her antiviral medication, and even made her a tiny custom jumper to keep her comfortable and dry.

Thanks to this dedicated care, she soon started gaining weight. Within days, she grew noticeably bigger. By day 16, she weighed 143 grams – a normal weight for a one-week-old kitten.

Caring for kittens is a meticulous job. Beyond feeding, it includes cleaning their eyes, ears, and teeth, brushing their fur, and bathing them with specialized products. Vaccinations are also vital to protect them from dangerous diseases.

This little fighter showed her will to live every time she was fed. She would latch onto the bottle eagerly and drink until her tiny belly was full. With each feed, she grew stronger.

Two months later, she had grown a lot but was still very small compared to other kittens her age – she could even fit in a pocket.

She’s playful and loves to hide before suddenly jumping out to pounce, just like any kitten her age.

Her rescuers named her “Rescuee” – a name symbolizing her journey. Hopefully, she will soon find a loving forever home and continue to thrive.
