“He starved himself for months—for just one scene.” Squid Game’s finale pushed Lee Jung-jae to his limits, and fans are now wondering what’s next for the brutal series 🎭🔥 See his dramatic transformation in the article 👇📸
The finale of “Squid Game” launched with massive success, but it came at a cost for the cast, reports Variety.
Lee Jung-jae, who plays Gi-hun, revealed that he followed an extremely strict diet for about 14 months. “In the last two months before filming, my diet was even harsher than before. I lost around 10 kilograms from my normal weight. I really wanted to not only express Gi-hun’s emotions but also show viewers how gaunt and drained he was,” the actor shared.
Filming the final scene, which deeply moved audiences, was particularly challenging. The crew only had one chance to get it right, making the shoot long and intense.
Meanwhile, rumors are swirling online about a possible continuation of the hit series. Hints about expanding the franchise first emerged in early 2024, when Netflix announced plans for spin-offs. With dystopian and social drama genres continuing to attract global attention, “Squid Game” could soon return as one of the platform’s biggest upcoming releases.
