“She crossed the finish line—and kissed him for all to see.” Jennifer Garner just shared a rare public moment with her secretive boyfriend after her charity run 🏃♀️💋 See their sweet photos in the article 👇
Jennifer Garner had more than one reason to smile after crossing the finish line at a charity run in Santa Monica on June 22. Waiting to greet her at the end was her longtime partner, John Miller, who welcomed her with a warm hug and a rare public kiss.
The 13 Going on 30 star, 53, participated in a run supporting Save the Children, looking sporty in a branded event T-shirt, leggings, and sneakers. Her blonde hair, styled in two neat French braids, added to her race-ready look. John kept things laid-back in jeans, a T-shirt, and sneakers as he proudly cheered her on.
Jennifer recently revealed that she took on the challenge of walking or running a mile every day for 67 days in honor of her 53rd birthday—and to raise awareness about global child hunger.
Though Jennifer and John have been together since 2018, they’ve kept their relationship mostly private. However, from time to time, they’ve been spotted enjoying low-key moments, like a coffee run in November where he had his arm wrapped around her. These rare glimpses of affection show the quiet strength of their bond.
At the same time, Jennifer remains open about her relationship with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, especially when it comes to raising their three kids—Violet (19), Seraphina (16), and Samuel (13). For Father’s Day on June 15, she posted a nostalgic photo of Ben holding one of their babies, captioning it: “Happy Father’s Day to 3 people’s favorite landing spot.”
Ben has also spoken highly of their co-parenting dynamic. In an interview with GQ earlier this year, he praised Jennifer as a fantastic partner in raising their children. “I’m really lucky,” he said. “We work well together.”
Jennifer has always emphasized the importance of keeping things positive for their kids. In a 2016 interview with Vanity Fair, she said, “It’s not Ben’s job to make me happy. What matters most is our children, and we agree on that.”
She added, “Sure, I lost the dream of dancing with my husband at our daughter’s wedding. But seeing the way our kids light up when he walks in the door—that’s what matters. If your kids love someone that deeply, you learn to be friends with them.”
Despite her Hollywood success, Jennifer makes a conscious effort to raise her children with strong values. “L.A. doesn’t reflect the rest of the world,” she once said. “I want my kids to know that, to say hello to people properly, and to appreciate life’s simple moments—just like I was raised.”
That commitment to staying grounded shows in her parenting style. Jennifer believes in teaching by example. “You can’t just tell your kids to have values—you have to show them what that looks like every day,” she told E! News.
She and Ben—who ended their marriage in 2015—are determined to lead by example. “I hope our kids see and respect how hard we work,” she said.
Parenting isn’t about perfection, she added in a 2016 appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. “You’re going to mess up, and it’s going to be tough—just like it is for everyone.”
When it comes to rules and routines at home, Jennifer admits it’s not always easy, but she aims for consistency. “They need to know what to expect from me,” she said in an interview with Us Weekly.
And on the hard days? She gives herself grace. “Every day is a reset button,” she told People. “You can try something new, and if it doesn’t work, toss it and try something else. That’s what I love about being a mom—you always get another chance.”
