The clip was shared on January 23 as part of a promotional moment tied to Netflix and featured Theron taking on the now-famous chair climbing challenge. The task looks simple at first glance: climb onto a chair and sit down without letting your feet touch the ground. In reality, it’s far trickier than expected.
Theron used the moment to call out Alex Honnold, the world-renowned climber known for scaling massive structures without ropes. The challenge came ahead of his upcoming Netflix event Skyscraper Live, which will show Honnold climbing the 101-story Taipei 101 tower in Taiwan with no safety gear.

In the video, Theron attempted the challenge using a black leather makeup chair. Wearing a black sweatshirt and matching sweatpants, she styled her blonde bob into a sleek bun and kept her look deliberately minimal. As she struggled to get past the chair’s chrome base, the attempt quickly turned playful.
After failing to clear the chair cleanly, Theron let her foot briefly touch the floor before pulling herself onto the seat. She immediately leaned into the moment, jokingly declaring the challenge “so easy” while blowing a kiss at the camera.
