Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made a rare joint red-carpet appearance in Canada. The couple arrived in Victoria for a special gala marking four decades of the charitable foundation created by singer and composer David Foster.
Meghan, 45, kept her evening look sleek and understated. She wore a long black dress from Canadian fashion brand Greta Constantine, while 41-year-old Harry appeared beside her in a formal tuxedo and bow tie.
Meghan’s Canadian outing follows another recent appearance in which she participated in a cooking show. During the program, the Duchess spoke about everyday family life and revealed some details about what is usually served for dinner at home.
Harry has also been making public appearances separately from his wife. He recently traveled to the United Kingdom alone, with his visit attracting attention because of the continuing difficulties in his relationship with the royal family.
The couple’s story began long before their move to North America. Harry, the younger son of Princess Diana and grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, married American actress Meghan in 2018. They initially remained in Britain, where their son Archie was born.
A major change came in 2020 when Harry and Meghan gave up their roles as working royals and moved to the United States. Their second child, daughter Lilibet, was born after the relocation. Tensions with Harry’s relatives became increasingly public following their departure, particularly after the couple’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, their Netflix documentary series and the publication of Harry’s memoir Spare.
