Who Will Be the Next James Bond? Here’s What We Know

“Bond fans won’t like this news.” Producers just scrapped their rumored choice for 007 and want someone under 30 instead 🎬🕵️‍♂️ See who’s now in the running in the article 👇🔥

Ever since Daniel Craig stepped down from the role of James Bond, speculation about his successor has been constant. In May, reports suggested that Aaron Taylor-Johnson was set to take on the iconic role. However, according to Variety, plans have now changed.

Insiders reveal that Amazon and the film’s producers are looking for a British actor under 30 to become the next 007. Current frontrunners include Jacob Elordi, Tom Holland, and Harris Dickinson. Although Elordi is Australian, his nationality isn’t considered an issue.

Older contenders like Aaron Taylor-Johnson (34), Henry Cavill (42), and Idris Elba have been frequently mentioned in the press, but they may no longer fit the new vision for Bond, which aims to introduce a younger face to the franchise.

Meanwhile, it’s been confirmed that French-Canadian director Denis Villeneuve (Dune) has been chosen to direct the 26th Bond film. Interestingly, his contract is for a single movie only, without sequel commitments or final cut approval. The last director to helm two consecutive Bond films was Sam Mendes.

With Villeneuve officially on board, production is expected to accelerate, though the release isn’t likely before 2028. That’s because Villeneuve is currently preparing for Dune: Part Three, set to hit cinemas in December 2026.

Earlier this year, Amazon MGM officially secured the rights to the Bond franchise. Fans continue to debate and place bets online over who will become the next super spy, as anticipation builds for a new era of 007.
