One creative young woman managed to turn an old, cramped 56-square-metre apartment into a cozy, modern space that looks like it came straight out of a magazine.
The place was once dark and outdated, but she brought it back to life with a clean, Scandinavian-inspired makeover. She even found room for a pantry and built a small workspace right into a wall nook.
The living area got new laminate flooring, and the highlight of the room became the TV wall, which was covered in the same laminate as the window sills, creating a stylish flow. She hasn’t chosen the final couch yet—she’s still hunting for just the right one.
To open up the space, she knocked down a wall and combined the kitchen with the living room. She cleverly used different flooring materials to visually separate the two zones. Cabinets now run along one wall, while another wall was painted with slate paint to serve as a design feature and writing surface.
The bedroom is small, but she made the most of it by focusing on a comfy bed and fitting in a wardrobe.
In the kids’ room, she removed a storage closet to create more space. Now there’s room for play, sleep, study—and even a special spot for the family pet.
The entryway is tiled with durable porcelain, and it’s kept clutter-free. All shoes, coats, and laundry are hidden away in a storage area behind a door, where she even placed a washing machine.
The bathroom renovation cost her 84,000 rubles in total, including the furniture. She used white and wood-patterned tiles to give it a warm and modern feel, and added a round wooden-framed mirror above the sink to complete the look.
From dull and outdated to fresh and full of life, she truly created her ideal home out of something many would have overlooked.
