Cameron Diaz has officially revealed her comeback to the big screen after taking an extended break from acting! 😯 🧐 The actress opened up about why she stepped away from Hollywood for so long. 🧐 Find out the full story behind her decision in the article!👇
Diaz is making her comeback with the upcoming action-comedy Back on Track, set to premiere on Netflix on January 17. In the film, she plays Emily, a former secret agent, alongside Jamie Foxx, who portrays her partner, Matt.

Expressing her gratitude, Diaz credited Foxx with being instrumental in her decision to return. “I couldn’t say no to Jamie,” Diaz shared with The Hollywood Reporter. “This is our third movie together, and it’s always amazing working with him.”
In 2015, Diaz married Benji Madden, the guitarist and vocalist for the band Good Charlotte. During her time away from acting, she became a mother of two and has expressed immense joy in raising her family. Friends close to the actress have mentioned how thrilled she is about her growing family, something she and Madden had long hoped for. In addition to motherhood, Diaz also authored several books on health and wellness during her break.

Once one of Hollywood’s top-earning stars and a four-time Golden Globe nominee, Diaz starred in a string of successful films before stepping away. Her last three movies—The Other Woman, Sex Tape, and Annie—performed well at the box office. However, in 2014, Diaz made the decision to step back from her career and focus on other aspects of her life.
“I felt like I needed to hit pause and really focus on myself,” Diaz revealed during Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit. “It was more important to me than anything else.”

The star of The Mask explained that it was a choice she had to make at that time. “It was something I needed to do to reclaim my life. I didn’t care about anyone else’s opinions or what success looked like to others. Nothing was going to change my mind—I had to take care of myself and create the life I truly wanted.”
Diaz emphasized how, ultimately, the decision was about pursuing what truly mattered to her. “For me, it all came down to figuring out what I was truly passionate about. And that was building my family,” she said.
