One architect named Patrick has always been passionate about old buildings, especially water towers. As an ordinary boy who was raised in Belgium, he could imagine how to live in such constructions. It was one of his childhood fantasies which he could turn into reality.
When he was already a grown up adult, his partner and he bought a tower and planned to convert it into their dream house. The moment they came across a rundown water tower just outside of Brussels, Patrick knew it actually was «the one».
It had been abandoned for decades. Patrick was ready to pay 43 000 dollars for the place but before they started working they needed the country to permit them. It took them 7 years to get the permission and 5 years to complete the reconstruction. So, the whole process lasted 12 years.
