Vera’s family decided to totally transform their miserable-looking house of 63 square meters. They planned to radically change the design giving the interior a fresher look. Soon, they started working.
This article is about the most functional room in a home – the kitchen. Vera ordered her design but didn’t collaborate with the designer. The project was created with the direct participation of the owners of the apartment.
Its proposed version was changed according to the customers’ decision. Yet, the family still decided to implement some of the proposed ideas.
The work area of the floor in the kitchen is lined with contrasting tiles of non-standard hexagonal shapes, and it looks stylish and creative. The rest of the flooring is dark. The color of the walls is deep blue but no bright.
It has been designed the way so as to make the facades of the kitchen unit snow-white, contrary to the finished design project. Initially, Vera planned to lay out the apron in the work area from the same hexagons that decorated the floor.
Yet, they didn’t fit the shapes and sizes. Correspondingly, in the end the owners chose tiles of a different shape, but in the same tones. Vera admitted that she spent three hours laying out the elements on the floor to understand the composition.
The bar counter was moved to the window and took the place of a standard window sill. This made it quite possible to make the bar area lighter, as well as to use the space rationally.
This has become a better design and looked more original and welcoming. The owners did their best and got a dream kitchen.
