Julia Roberts has celebrated her 59th birthday, receiving heartfelt congratulations from her husband, Danny Moder, and her niece, actress Emma Roberts.
The 57-year-old cinematographer shared a rare photograph from a previous family birthday celebration, showing Julia in an elegant black one-shoulder dress beside her parents.
In the picture, Danny stands behind his wife, gently kissing her shoulder while looking at her affectionately. Roberts smiles as she prepares to blow out the candles on her birthday cake.
“We celebrate every day… but October 28 the most. The more candles, the more joy. I love you so much,” Moder wrote alongside the touching image.
Julia and Danny met in 2000 while working on the film The Mexican, which also starred Brad Pitt. Their romance developed quickly, and they married two years later at the actress’s ranch in New Mexico.
The couple have three children: 21-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and 19-year-old Henry. All three are now attending college and living independently.
In July, Roberts and Moder celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary. The actress has often described her family as her greatest source of happiness, despite her successful Hollywood career.
According to Julia, the secret to their lasting marriage is continuing to make an effort and keeping romance alive. The couple still exchange handwritten love notes, including one seven-page letter Danny wrote early in their relationship.
Roberts also received a touching birthday message from her niece Emma Roberts, who shared a photograph taken during her pre-wedding dinner in July.
In the picture, Emma wears a white lace dress, while Julia appears in a beige blouse, olive-green trousers and a Louis Vuitton handbag.
“Happy birthday, Aunt Julia. I love you beyond measure!” Emma wrote, adding a crown emoji.
Emma, the daughter of Julia’s older brother Eric Roberts, married her longtime boyfriend Cody John in July. Her father was not invited to the wedding following years of complicated family relationships.
Julia, however, attended the celebration in Idaho with Danny and their children. Among the celebrity guests were Demi Moore, Kristen Stewart and Sarah Paulson.
