Kate Middleton made a dazzling appearance at Windsor Castle, attending a lavish state banquet alongside Prince William in a beautiful evening gown and a historic royal tiara.
The 44-year-old Princess of Wales joined King Charles III, Queen Camilla and other senior royals to welcome Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman during his official visit to the United Kingdom.
For the prestigious occasion, Kate chose a flowing pale-yellow Elie Saab gown from the designer’s spring-summer 2025 collection. The elegant dress featured a rounded neckline, a delicate keyhole cutout at the chest, a floor-length skirt and a graceful cape.
The highlight of her appearance was Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Tiara, the famous diamond-and-pearl headpiece closely associated with Princess Diana.
Created by Garrard in 1913, the tiara was worn by Queen Elizabeth II before becoming one of Diana’s most recognizable accessories. Kate first wore it in 2015 and has since made it a favorite for important royal occasions.
She completed her glamorous look with sparkling diamond chandelier earrings, a bracelet from Queen Elizabeth II’s collection and a glittering gold clutch. Ceremonial decorations added the finishing touches.
Royal biographer Amanda Matta described the tiara as one of Kate’s signature pieces, praising the romantic combination of the historic jewelry and her new evening gown.
Prince William and King Charles wore formal Windsor tailcoats, while Queen Camilla appeared in an elegant purple chiffon gown by Fiona Clare.
The banquet brought together approximately 160 guests, including Princess Anne, Sir Timothy Laurence and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. The evening celebrated the first visit by an Omani monarch to Britain in more than 40 years.
Guests enjoyed an elaborate menu featuring Scottish langoustines, Cornish crab, pheasant and a special baked Alaska dessert.
Although the evening was dedicated to an important diplomatic visit, Kate’s pale-yellow gown and Diana’s beloved tiara became standout details of the royal celebration.
