Irina Shayk commanded attention in Milan with a runway appearance that immediately put her at the center of the show. The 40-year-old Russian supermodel walked for Blumarine during Milan Fashion Week, becoming the standout face of the Italian brand’s presentation.
For her turn on the catwalk, Shayk was given a softer beauty look that contrasted with the drama of her outfit. Her makeup was delicate and understated, while her long hair was left loose around her shoulders.
The real statement came from the clothes. The Hercules actress stepped onto the runway in a black semi-sheer corset paired with a voluminous tiered skirt. Its construction left much of her legs exposed as she walked, while matching black sandals completed the dark, sensual look.
The latest Blumarine collection was created under the direction of David Koma. The Georgian designer chose Shayk as both a muse and a face for the fashion house, pointing to a particular combination of qualities that he sees in the model.
For Koma, Shayk represents a grown-up interpretation of glamour while possessing the confidence to reveal another side of herself. He described her as “strong enough to show vulnerability,” a contrast that became part of the inspiration surrounding her role in the collection.
Shayk had arrived in Milan earlier in the week, and her fashion schedule quickly brought her together with tennis star Aryna Sabalenka. During their meeting, Irina demonstrated her signature model walk for the Belarusian athlete before Sabalenka later made her own runway debut.
Shayk publicly celebrated the tennis star afterward with a warm message, calling Sabalenka “my queen.”
Away from the fashion world, Irina is raising her nine-year-old daughter Lea, whom she shares with actor Bradley Cooper. The supermodel has also spoken openly about her personal life and the possibility of eventually meeting someone with whom she could build a lasting relationship.
Shayk has admitted that finding that person may not be particularly easy because she rarely goes out and considers herself very shy. Her mother even jokes that the right man could end up being someone who simply arrives at her home to repair the television.
Irina herself has played along with the idea. “You know, if he’s a good person, I’ll marry him!” she told her mother.
For Shayk, however, the qualities of a potential partner matter far more than where or how they meet. “If there is a guy who brings love and peace into my life, I’ll marry him. But at this stage of my life, I’m not ready to put up with any kind of craziness,” she emphasized.
For now, Milan has once again placed her firmly in her professional element. With a sheer corset, a dramatic skirt and the confident walk that made her one of fashion’s most recognizable faces, Shayk became the woman all eyes followed down the Blumarine runway.
