Catherine Zeta-Jones has marked an important family milestone by sharing a rare photograph with her father, businessman David James Jones, in honor of his 80th birthday.
The “Wednesday” star accompanied the touching picture with an emotional message that made clear just how close she remains to her dad.
“Happy birthday, Daddy! 80 years! I love you with all my heart. I’m the luckiest girl in the world to have a daddy like you,” the actress wrote.

Long before Catherine found international fame, her parents lived a considerably more modest life. David owned a small bakery when he met Patricia Fair, who worked as a seamstress. Their daughter Catherine was born on September 25, 1969.
The actress has previously recalled that money was tight during her childhood. The family’s circumstances changed dramatically in the early 1980s, however, when her parents won £100,000 in the national lottery.

The unexpected windfall allowed them to improve their living conditions and invest in a confectionery business, which they eventually developed into a successful enterprise.
Decades later, Catherine continues to publicly celebrate the family that supported her before Hollywood fame arrived — and her father’s 80th birthday gave her a particularly personal reason to share one of their rare pictures together.
Meanwhile, another generation of the family is beginning to pursue the performing arts. Catherine’s daughter with Michael Douglas is preparing to make her theatrical stage debut in “The Seagull.”
