Kendall Jenner turned to the fashion archives for her first walk down the Venice Film Festival red carpet. The 30-year-old model arrived at the prestigious Italian event wearing a golden creation that dates back 31 years.
Jenner attended the premiere of director Martin McDonagh’s Wild Horse, where her unusual vintage choice immediately stood out. Rather than opting for a contemporary design, she appeared in an ankle-skimming gold dress with a dimensional floral motif and a distinctly 1990s silhouette.
The fitted shape emphasized the model’s slender figure, while the textured metallic fabric gave the outfit its dramatic effect. The gown originally appeared in Giorgio Armani’s 1995 collection and was brought out of the archives for Kendall’s Venice appearance.
As an Armani Beauty ambassador at the festival, Jenner completed the historic fashion moment with dark caramel-colored leather sandals featuring slender stiletto heels. She kept her jewelry restrained, wearing only statement diamond earrings by Briony Raymond.
Kendall was attending the premiere of Wild Horse, McDonagh’s latest directorial project following The Banshees of Inisherin. His 2022 movie went on to receive Oscar nominations.
The new film features Parker Posey, John Malkovich, Sam Rockwell and Steve Buscemi. Its story unfolds in 1973, shortly before the coup in Chile, and centers on CIA officers Chris and Lee, who are sent from Santiago to Easter Island on an assignment. Their operation becomes increasingly complicated as old secrets, current conspiracies and Chris’s involvement with rebellious students collide.
One person noticeably missing from Kendall’s Venice appearance was her boyfriend, Jacob Elordi. The 29-year-old Australian actor participated in the festival last year while promoting Frankenstein, but he is not attending this year’s edition.
News of Kendall and Jacob’s relationship surfaced in April. The two were later spotted passionately kissing during Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance, followed by another sighting together at the beach.
Although they had known each other for some time, they reportedly became closer through Kendall’s sister Kylie Jenner. Elordi is also friends with Kylie’s boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet.
Their romance has since included a trip to Japan as well as time together in Australia, where Kendall reportedly met Jacob’s family. His absence in Venice meant Jenner walked the carpet solo, but her decades-old golden gown ensured that all eyes remained firmly on her.
