Sydney Sweeney Takes Her Love of Adrenaline to a Terrifying New Level High Above the Ground

Sydney Sweeney has added another extreme adventure to her growing list — and this one immediately drew comparisons with Tom Cruise. The 28-year-old Euphoria star climbed onto the wing of a biplane while it was performing dramatic maneuvers in the air.

Sweeney shared footage of the experience on social media. Wearing a red safety vest and protective goggles, the actress was secured to the aircraft with straps around her arms before the plane took off.

Once airborne, things became considerably more intense. The biplane performed turns and rolls while Sydney remained attached to the wing. A GoPro captured the entire experience from close range, and at one point the image flipped completely upside down along with the actress.

Rather than appearing intimidated, Sweeney used the moment to tease one of Hollywood’s most famous stunt enthusiasts. “How about that, Tom Cruise?” she said, directly challenging her fellow actor after completing her own airborne adventure.

The footage immediately reminded viewers of Cruise’s spectacular stunt in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning. During a major sequence, Cruise moved across the wing of an 80-year-old Stearman biplane at an altitude of 2,400 meters while the aircraft performed loops and reached speeds of up to 225 kilometers per hour.

The British company that organized Sweeney’s flight later responded publicly to her video. “You were amazing… We absolutely loved working with you!” its representatives wrote.

Not everyone close to Sydney was eager to experience the same thing. Her friend, photographer Eddy Chen, reacted with relief that he had stayed behind. “Thank God I didn’t go. I would have passed out,” he admitted.

This is hardly Sweeney’s first encounter with adrenaline. She has developed a reputation for enjoying high-energy activities and previously shared footage of herself bungee jumping, flying in a helicopter and riding a speedboat.

Those adventures came during her travels through Australia and New Zealand with boyfriend Scooter Braun, showing that Sydney’s appetite for thrills extends well beyond movie sets.

The Emmy-nominated actress has also recently spoken about a much more serious subject. She revealed that her family had been affected by wildfires in the United States. Sweeney responded by making significant donations to four organizations and supporting a children’s fund that delivered essential supplies to local residents.
