Britney Spears has opened up about a cosmetic procedure that she says went badly wrong. The 44-year-old pop star shared her experience in an Instagram video, revealing that a Botox treatment left her struggling with a dramatic change around one of her eyes.
According to Britney, the procedure was carried out by a doctor in Los Angeles. She claimed that too much of the product was injected around her left eye, causing her eyelid to droop significantly.
The singer said the result affected more than just her appearance. For an entire month, she felt that she had lost much of her usual facial expression because of what had happened to her eye.
Going out in public during that period was particularly difficult for her. Britney admitted that she felt deeply embarrassed about being seen while her face looked different following the procedure.
The problem did not disappear immediately. Spears explained that it took roughly four weeks before her eyelid gradually began returning to its normal position.
Her experience also left her angry with highly regarded cosmetic doctors who promise impressive transformations but, in her view, can sometimes leave patients dealing with exactly the opposite result. She criticized professionals who make big promises only for procedures to alter a person’s natural features in an unwanted way.

By the end of the video, Britney turned her personal experience into a warning for other women considering similar cosmetic treatments. She urged them to be extremely cautious about any procedures performed on their bodies, particularly when treatment involves such a delicate area of the face.
The pop star made her feelings especially clear when discussing the eyes. After spending weeks waiting for her own eyelid to recover, Britney warned that mistakes involving this area can have serious consequences and urged women to think carefully about whom they trust with cosmetic procedures.
