At an age when most teenagers spend their free time playing video games or scrolling through social media, Luke Thill decided to do something completely different.
The 13-year-old from the United States set himself an ambitious goal: building his own tiny house entirely from scratch. And unbelievably, he actually succeeded.
The idea first came to Luke after he watched videos online about tiny homes and compact living spaces. Fascinated by the concept, he quickly became obsessed with the idea of having a small house of his own.
Instead of treating it like a fantasy, he started planning seriously.
Luke spent months researching construction techniques online and learning everything he could about building small homes. He also asked his parents, neighbors, and friends for advice while searching for affordable materials. Some people even donated supplies to help him complete the project.
But the biggest challenge was money.
To fund the construction, Luke spent about a year doing small jobs and helping neighbors with chores and yard work. Slowly, he managed to save around $1,500 for the project.
Eventually, all the hard work paid off.
In the backyard of his parents’ home, Luke built an impressive tiny house measuring just 8 square meters. While the space is extremely compact, the inside contains everything needed for comfortable living.
And that’s the part that surprised people the most.
Despite its small size, the interior looks warm, organized, and surprisingly cozy. Every corner was carefully designed to maximize space, turning the little structure into a real functional home instead of just a simple shed.
Luke says the house became his own personal space — a quiet place where he can relax, think, and spend time alone away from distractions.
