In the movie, Carrey portrayed the Grinch — the green character who decided to steal Christmas from the residents of Whoville. Young Taylor played Cindy Lou, the little girl whose sincerity and kindness became central to the entire story.
Over time, Momsen stepped away from acting and built a music career, becoming the lead singer of the band The Pretty Reckless. Looking back on the filming of The Grinch, she has said that Carrey was very kind on set and that his makeup never scared her.
