Meghan Markle has once again spoken candidly about her time as a working member of the royal family — this time revealing how even the dress code became a source of stress and discomfort.
One specific rule that particularly bothered her? The expectation to wear nude pantyhose at all formal events.
“I was expected to wear nude stockings constantly,” Meghan said. “To be honest, that was never really my thing. I hadn’t worn pantyhose since watching movies from the ‘80s — it just felt forced and unnatural.”
According to people close to the Duchess, Meghan felt frustrated from the beginning with the rigid style rules she was expected to follow. “She thought tights were old-fashioned and uncomfortable, but she knew she had to wear them, especially during appearances with senior royals. That pressure to fit into the system added to the growing tension with Kate,” a source explained.
