Carla Bruni, 56, made a stunning appearance on the runway for Victoria’s Secret in New York, as the iconic lingerie brand made a comeback with its first major show in six years. The event featured some of the most famous former Victoria’s Secret models, often called “angels,” such as Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Tyra Banks. Joining them for the first time were seasoned models Carla Bruni and 50-year-old Kate Moss. Bruni, the former First Lady of France, became the oldest model to participate in the show, sharing the spotlight with much younger stars like sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid.

Bruni strutted down the catwalk in a black rhinestone-embellished corset, paired with skimpy underwear and sheer stockings. In a post-show interview, she revealed that this may be her first and last appearance at a Victoria’s Secret event.

“It’s incredibly thrilling, but also a bit overwhelming. Becoming an ‘angel’ at this stage of my life is inspiring. I even have wings!” Bruni said playfully.

She also joked about her husband, former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, regretting that he couldn’t attend the show.

“My only disappointment is that my husband wasn’t here tonight. I think he might have had a heart attack if he saw me!” she laughed.

Nicolas Sarkozy served as the President of France from 2007 to 2012. He and Bruni tied the knot in 2008 after a whirlwind romance.

Bruni began her modeling career at the age of 19 and quickly rose to prominence as one of the world’s highest-paid models. In addition to her modeling career, she has also enjoyed success as a singer and actress. Prior to her marriage to Sarkozy, she released two albums of her own original music.

The couple’s relationship became public in late 2007, shortly after Sarkozy’s divorce from his second wife. By January 2008, Sarkozy confirmed their relationship in a press conference, hinting at marriage. Just a month later, they wed in a grand ceremony at the Elysee Palace, marking Sarkozy as the first sitting French president to marry while in office. In 2011, Carla gave birth to their daughter, Julia.

Five years ago, Bruni revealed that she had battled breast cancer, a fight that lasted four years. She underwent surgery along with radiotherapy and hormone treatments, successfully overcoming the disease.
