The 65-year-old Golden Globe winner was recently spotted in West Hollywood with a scar on her cheek. Melanie has decided not to make an official statement regarding the rumors, but people close to her have expressed concern about the possible return of skin cancer. Since 2009, she has undergone a series of numerous operations for skin cancer.
Medical examiner Dr. Gabe Mirkin from Florida said that she underwent surgery for suspected skin cancer.
He explained that in most cases, 95% in the early stages of the disease, the surgeon can easily effectively eliminate the disease when the lesion is limited to superficial manifestations and is detected only on the surface.
However, the doctor cautions that additional surgery may be required if the skin cancer is located in the area around the ears, nose, eyes or mouth, as the disease may penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin.
In line with previous recommendations, Melanie advises avoiding exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays. At the moment, the actress is only 65-years-old. Her daughters are actress Dakota Johnson, 33, and singer Stella Banderas. Alexander Bauer, her son, aged 37, is the second child in the family.
