People often prioritize worldly possessions above their animals and such a situation Greece is now experiencing and there are a lot of dogs abandoned on the streets. Happily, a kind man considered to take care of almost 200 homeless dogs.
A well-known dentist names Theoklitos Proestakis shortly Takis considered quitting his job to assist homeless animals. It was a truly noble decision. The caring man opened his own animal shelter in Crete almost three years ago.
The families in Greece abandon their dogs, as they weren’t able to give them food and vet care. But a kind man considered doing all the possible things to assist such animals without demanding anything in return.
He takes care of most of all the puppies with health issues, but all the dogs regardless of their health state need a vet visit. Takis is taking care of all dogs as he knows their value.
He told, that when he once went to the dump there were dogs in awful health conditions. They had broken legs, were starving, malnourished and sick. He was amazed by what he saw. He just told, that his only wish is helping them. And he started assisting them, giving food and water and he was overjoyed to see them getting stronger. But the neighborhood people didn’t like the man and his intentions, as they considered dogs are becoming a nuisance. And he considered opening a shelter where he could keep animals.
Takis at first took care of only sick dogs, but then he started looking after all dogs, as he considered them very valuable animals.
