When Simone came across an injured squirrel who had fallen from the tree, she took her home without hesitation.
Luckily, the woman had a lot of knowledge how to treat such animals, so she managed to save its life.
She called her Dingetjie and became a caretaker for the little creature. Simone looked after her perfectly, because it was too small and couldn’t survive alone.
They became inseparable and enjoyed spending all day together. The woman was so kind and caring to the squirrel, but when it became strong and healthy, she decided to allow it to return to its habitat.
Although it was not an easy decision, she had to do it, because she was sure that it would be better for the animal to be in her nature.
But she never forgot her savior and kept visiting her each day.
But one day she didn’t return, making Simone worry about her. After a few days she came back pregnant. She refused to leave her and stayed next to her beloved person.
Unfortunately, the baby couldn’t survive and passed away.
The next year the squirrel got pregnant again and luckily she gave birth to a healthy and strong cub.
Now Simone takes care of the newborn squirrel and they live happily together.
