A sweet occasion: An enormous turtle appeared on the beach
This was a really amazing and rare event: an enormous leatherback turtle came out of the ocean to sun itself on the sand. The biggest leatherback turtles are different from their sibling species by the absence of a hard shell.
Their name came from the hard skin, that covers their backs. And when it’s time to spawn these species only interact with other species or they just remained alone.
They lay eggs on the sand, like other turtles and when they hatched they swim off to the sea by themselves. These turtles can go deep to collect jellyfish and swallow them as they can withstand frigid temperatures.
These enormous turtles’ fins can reach to three meters.
And seeing such animals is a fortune, because it demonstrates the richness of our natural world. We can see the big variety of sizes, kinds and forms and we should treat them with more respect.
