Natalia Oreiro and Facundo Arana have given Wild Angel fans a reunion many have been waiting almost three decades to see. The 49-year-old actress appeared on the red carpet in Buenos Aires alongside her 54-year-old former co-star, instantly bringing back memories of Milagros and Ivo.
The actors met at the premiere of the comedy I Am a Narcissist. They looked completely at ease together, chatting animatedly, laughing and posing for photographers. Their warm interaction quickly became one of the most noticeable moments of the evening.
“Hi, baby! How many years has it been, huh?” the stars said as they greeted each other. An especially touching moment followed when Oreiro, after seemingly saying goodbye, suddenly held onto Arana’s hand. For viewers who once followed their characters’ romance, the gesture inevitably recalled the chemistry that made their television partnership so memorable.
Back in the late 1990s, the love story between the modest Milagros and wealthy Ivo was so convincing that many fans suspected the actors might also have been romantically involved away from the cameras. Oreiro has repeatedly dismissed that idea, explaining that she and Arana were simply friends.
“We actually became close on our next project, You Are My Life, not on Wild Angel,” she once explained. Oreiro recalled that neither she nor Arana had to audition because the channel offered them their roles directly. She also admitted that blond men had never been her type and that initially they had no idea whether their pairing would work. On screen, however, the result exceeded their expectations.
Wild Angel premiered in 1998 and transformed Oreiro into an international star, earning her enormous popularity in Russia as well. She later visited the country frequently for concerts, recorded songs in Russian and participated in Russian television projects. In 2021, she received Russian citizenship.
