For a split second, people thought they were seeing Reese all over again. Ava Phillippe stepped onto the red carpet in Los Angeles on Wednesday night for the premiere of Scream 7 — and the resemblance to her mother, Reese Witherspoon, was impossible to ignore.
At 26, Ava is carving out her own path in acting, but under the flashing lights, she looked like a near-perfect reflection of the Oscar-winning star in her early years. The same blonde hair. The same heart-shaped face. The same bright, camera-ready smile.
For the evening, Ava chose a sleek black snakeskin dress with delicate straps that highlighted her slim silhouette. She paired the look with deep red heels and dangling black-and-gold earrings, adding just enough edge to the otherwise classic styling. Her blonde hair fell to her shoulders, worn loose, while her makeup featured a defined cat-eye that sharpened the overall look.
By her side was her boyfriend, Dakota Brubaker, who arrived in an all-black ensemble — a tailored suit layered over a black shirt — keeping the focus firmly on Ava.
The genetic déjà vu, however, stole the conversation.
Reese was just 23 when she gave birth to Ava with her then-husband Ryan Phillippe. In a past appearance on The View, the Hello Sunshine founder reflected on that chapter of her life. She shared that she was living separately from her own mother at the time. Her mom worked full-time as a nurse, and Reese found herself raising a baby at a very young age, largely on her own.
Now, more than two decades later, that baby is walking red carpets — and looking uncannily like the woman who once navigated motherhood at 23.
Ava may be building her own career, but on this particular night, Hollywood couldn’t help but see double.
