In Brazil, a woman who had always longed for love and family unexpectedly found happiness… with a rag doll made by her mother.

37-year-old Meirivone Rocha Moraes had long struggled to find the man of her dreams and increasingly felt lonely. That’s when her mother decided to help — she sewed a doll by hand, resembling a man with blue eyes, brown hair, and a neatly trimmed mustache.

When Meirivone first saw “him,” she said she felt real emotions — and insists the doll returned her feelings.

After several months of this unusual relationship, the woman announced that she was pregnant. To make sure their “child” would be born within wedlock, the couple decided to have a wedding. The ceremony was a success: 250 guests attended, and everything looked like a typical love story.

After the wedding, the newlyweds went on a honeymoon to Rio de Janeiro. Upon returning home, Meirivone began to feel contractions. The “birth” lasted only 35 minutes. She gave birth to the “baby” in the presence of a doctor and nurse, broadcasting the entire process live to 200 viewers.

The baby was named Marcelinho. According to Meirivone, she is happy in her marriage, though it isn’t easy being the only breadwinner in the family. She insists her husband is perfect — he never argues, never fights, and loves her just the way she is.
