Kate and William Join Royals as the Family Bids Goodbye to Its Oldest Member

“A royal farewell shrouded in mystery” 🖤👑 The Duchess of Kent’s final goodbye gathered King Charles, Princess Kate, and the entire Windsor circle — but one detail at the funeral has everyone whispering. See the solemn images in the article below 👇📸

The British royal family bid farewell in London to its oldest member, the Duchess of Kent, Katharine Worsley. She passed away on September 4 at the age of 92 in her Kensington Palace residence. After the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, the Duchess had remained the senior-most member of the family. Her husband, the Duke of Kent, is now 89 years old.

The funeral procession was led by King Charles III, who attended without Queen Camilla, as she is recovering from illness. Among those present were the Prince and Princess of Wales. Catherine, 43, honored tradition by dressing in all black. She wore a tailored midi-length coat dress by Catherine Walker, complete with a large bow at the neckline, paired with a veiled hat, black tights, and classic heels. She finished the look with drop earrings and a striking four-row pearl necklace once owned by the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Interestingly, the Princess had worn nearly the same outfit at Prince Philip’s funeral in 2021, with only her hat and handbag differing. This time, she carried a quilted Chanel bag instead of a clutch.

Also in attendance were Princess Anne and her husband Timothy Laurence, as well as Prince Andrew, who appeared alongside his former wife Sarah Ferguson. The Duke of Kent, deeply grieving the loss of his wife, arrived early at Westminster Abbey, leaning heavily on a cane. Members of the extended royal family, including the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Prince Michael of Kent with his family, Lady Gabriella Windsor, and Lord Frederick Windsor, also paid their respects. Senior relatives arrived in limousines, while younger aristocrats traveled by bus.
