The family of French cinema icon Alain Delon has found itself in a storm of legal battles over his inheritance. His youngest son, Alain-Fabien, is challenging the actor’s will, claiming it was altered at a time when Delon was no longer fully capable of making decisions.

Delon, who won international acclaim and became one of Europe’s most recognizable stars, faced serious health struggles in his final years. After a stroke in 2019, he lived with Alzheimer’s symptoms and later underwent treatment for lymphoma. In early 2023, his legal capacity was restricted, and he passed away on August 18, 2024, at his residence in Douchy, France, at the age of 88. His children include Anthony, 60, from his first marriage, along with Anouchka, 34, and Alain-Fabien, 31, from his later relationship with model Rosalie van Breemen.

While Delon had written his will long before his illness, a revised version surfaced in November 2022. This update left the bulk of his estate to his daughter, something Alain-Fabien strongly opposes. He argues that his father was no longer of sound mind when the revisions were made and wants the court to nullify them.

At the heart of the dispute are the rights to Delon’s creative works, which were granted exclusively to Anouchka. Alain-Fabien is demanding the return of the 2015 will, which distributed the inheritance more evenly: half to his sister, and a quarter each to him and Anthony.

The youngest son also plans to contest a property transfer signed in early 2023, when Delon was in hospital, that handed assets directly to Anouchka. He says newly uncovered medical records prove his father’s mental decline had been documented for years, but those details were hidden from the family. He also accuses his sister of keeping critical information from her brothers. Notably, Anthony has already taken legal steps against Anouchka with similar claims.

According to Alain-Fabien’s lawyer, his case is not about financial gain but about exposing the truth. “He wants to prove his father was manipulated and that unfair actions took place,” she explained. The first court session is scheduled for March 9, 2026.
