The Duchess of Sussex celebrated her 44th birthday in California with an intimate gathering surrounded by family and close friends — and she gave fans a glimpse into her special day.
On August 4, Meghan Markle marked her birthday with a dinner at Funke, an upscale Los Angeles restaurant. Joining her were Prince Harry, their two children — Archie (6) and Lilibet (4), Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, and a select group of close friends. The former actress shared a photo from the evening, wearing a white outfit adorned with sparkling embellishments, as she smiled beside a floral-decorated cake.
“Blowing out candles on a beautiful 24 hours and feeling deeply thankful — to my husband, my family, and my friends for making it so special. And to all of you who send me love every day, even if we’ve never met — thank you. I feel it. And I treasure it,” Meghan wrote in a heartfelt message.
The Duchess also gave a special shout-out to chef Evan Funke and his team, thanking them for the unforgettable culinary experience. “Just a little indulgence to share… Last night’s dinner, crafted by Evan and his amazing team, easily ranks among the top five meals of my life. Absolutely incredible. Thank you for the magic,” she added.
Notably, no public birthday wishes came from members of the British royal family, who have remained silent on the occasion. But Meghan received an outpouring of love from her inner circle — friends who’ve remained close since her return to the U.S. and departure from royal duties.
Among those celebrating her was actress Abigail Spencer, Meghan’s former Suits co-star. Spencer shared a throwback photo of the two on set, along with an emotional tribute.
