One may say that this French actor brought the New Wave to the 1960s becoming a major film star. His successful career spanned for several decades the best-remembered roles being «Breathless», «That Man From Rio» and «The Professional». He frequently played heroic and fearless characters captivating a wide audience both in France and not only. His significant contribution to the industry let people call him the French counterpart of actors such as J. Dean and H. Bogart.
He became a big comedy and action star in France also finding his production company Cerito. His comeback to stage was marked by the movies «Theatre Marigny» and «Paris». It was in 2021 that he passed away at his home in Paris at the age of 88. The reason became his poor health as a result of a stroke he had suffered a decade before.
What concerns his personal life, he became a father of 3 with his 1st wife Elodie Constant welcoming Patricia, Florence and Paul.
